Middlesborough college sprinkler save, 17th May 2015 Noel Cornforth at Cleveland Fire Brigade reports that at just after 3pm on the afternoon of Sunday 17th May, and while the building was occupied by about 100 Students, a fire occurred in a waste bin in a second floor toilet area at a Sixth Form College in Middlesborough. One pendant sprinkler head activated in the affected area and extinguished the fire before the arrival of Fire Service personnel in two pumps and one aerial appliance. The water supply to the sprinkler system is reported to be from tanks which are mains fed. Brighton hostel save 9/6/15

Sprinkler save a Brighton Hostel: 9th June 2015 At about 21:30 hours on Tuesday 9th June a fire broke out in a second floor bedroom at a 46 room adult social care hostel on Grand Parade, Brighton. The fire, the cause of which is under investigation, caused one concealed sidewall sprinkler head in the room to activate and while two fire appliances were mobilised to the incident, no fire-fighting action was required by attending crews. None of the 46 male occupants at the time of the fire are reported to have suffered injuries. Bilston recycling centre save 19/5/15

Sprinkler save at Bilston recycling plant 19th May 2015 Dave Marsh, Fire Safety Officer with West Midlands Fire Service reports that in the early hours of Tuesday 19th May 2015 a fire occurred in a pile of about 110tonnes of material in a 100m x 120m building at a textile recycling plant in Bilston in the area of the West Midlands known as the ‘Black Country’. From his post fire inspection he noted that 3 sprinkler heads activated and controlled the fire, limiting the damage to a couple of tonnes of textile ready for recycling.
