Residential Flat save: Bedford 31 July 2017

Bedfordshire FRS were called to a 5th floor residential flat fire at 23:06 hrs on 31 July 2017. The resident had fallen asleep leaving a chip pan on, a fire broke out whilst the resident slept, fortunately the fire activated the residential sprinkler system and the sprinkler head within the kitchen extinguished the fire as well as raised the alarm. 1 female casualty was escorted from the flat by fire service personnel and handed over to ambulance service. The fire officer in charge of the incident reported that without the sprinkler activation, the whole flat would have been lost and there was a real possibility that the occupant would have lost their life. London converted factory save: 19th July 2017

London Fire Brigade received a call to a fire at the Bussey Building in Peckham at 01:46 on the morning of Wednesday 19th July The building was formerly a factory of three and five floors plus basement built circa 1887 but has been converted to a multiple use commercial building with bars, cafes, offices and small units. In addition, there is an open air bar and cinema situated on the roof of the building. It is fitted with a sprinkler system throughout the building The fire was located on the 4th floor which had been converted into multiple small art studios. The sprinkler system alarm actuated and alerted people to the fire and there were no reported in juries When the Fire Service arrived
