Leicester Kickboxing club save: 7th August 2015

On 7th August 2015 at 01:47 Leicestershire FRS were mobilised to a report of a roof fire at a Kickboxing club in Leicester.

Upon arrival the fire was located inside the roof. Crews made entry into the building, deploying BA and hose-reels and one jet to cover the fire.

One sprinkler head had operated inside the roof space and had controlled the fire, preventing the fire from spreading to the rest of the roof space. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire without any difficulties and only a small area of roof was damaged. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Without doubt the operation of the sprinkler system has prevented a far more serious fire. Following clearing up of minimal water damage the business should be up and running soon.
